Stocks & Mutual Funds
We can also accept appreciated securities, stocks or mutual funds. This method of donation has significant tax benefits for you. Not only can you avoid capital gains tax, but also you are able to deduct the full fair market value of the security at the time of the donation. Please call Rachel House Executive Director, Kathy Edwards, to manage the logistics of liquidation at 816.875.1059.
Other Non-Cash Items
We have a partnership with iDonate, the country’s leading provider of non-cash donations and liquidation services. This partnership allows us to accept more non-cash gifts (such as vehicles, RVs, boats, real estate, etc.) and increases your opportunity to give. Please visit our iDonate page here to learn more about non-cash gifts.
Tax Credits
Missouri state tax credits are available for qualifying donations. Tax credits significantly reduce the net cost of a charitable contribution. They are more advantageous than income tax deductions. These tax credits are for 50 percent of the amount donated. To learn more about Missouri State tax credits, please call the Administrative Office in Lee's Summit.
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
— Matthew 6:19-24
