At Rachel House, volunteers play a vital role!  Actually, we would have great difficulty functioning without them.  Last year, hundreds of hours were logged by volunteer staff.  These hours were donated by men and women just like you who felt God tugging at their hearts to get involved in the battle for life and take action.

Rachel House is always looking for those who would sacrifice a portion of their time for those we serve on a weekly basis.  Normally, volunteer shifts are scheduled for a minimum of 3-4 hours on the same day each week. Here is a listing of the weekly volunteer positions that need to be filled:

·         Client Advocate – To be fully staffed, each center needs a minimumof 60 client advocates per week.  The Client Advocate is fully trained to minister to women who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy.  This is front line work that requires a discerning, compassionate yet bold spirit when talking about abortion, sexual purity and the Gospel.  Currently Client Advocates are needed in the Northland, Lee’s Summit and Paseo.  Please pray and seek the Lord if you believe that this is a volunteer position you could fill.  If God is asking you to serve HIM in this way please respond, We need you!

·         Receptionist– Although our phones are handled through our main operator, every center requires a friendly face to greet those coming in the door. We train these individuals to know how to meet each need for our visitors.

·         Behind the scenes – Individuals who enjoy serving behind the scenes are needed to complete a variety of data entry positions in both client services and the finance department.

God created us to serve Him in His work here on earth.  His spiritual mandate to us is to rescue those who are being led away to death (Proverbs 24:11).  When you volunteer at Rachel House, you are joining Him in an eternal work.  For more information about how you could volunteer at Rachel House, please contact Alissa Gross at alissagross@rachelhouse.org

Together we are making a difference two lives at a time,
Kathy Edwards
